Special ER32 Collet Nuts?

I'm looking to stick four ER32 Spindles side-by-side with about 2.000" C-C spacing in-line.

...Obviously, the standard nut and wrench are not really the best for this set-up.

Anyone know of a solution or an alternate style collet nut?

There doesn't seem to be an ER32 "mini" nut available anywhere. Even a hex would require a very unique socket set-up...

Drill two holes on the face of the collet nut to match the pins of a face spanner wrench - perhaps use an adjustable face wrench.

That is what I was thinking. Also machine off the corners of the flats if they are too big.

Imagine a customer drilling a 3/4" hole in 1" thick stainless steel. Would you trist this "pin wrench" set-up to properly tighten that collet nut? I'm a bit worried about undertightening and/or amatuer-looking tool set-ups.

If there is an off-the-shelf option, I'd much rather find and go with that.

Joe, Not sure if this will work:

Steve,

I was told about these but didn't know where to find them... Thanks.

I don't see how to grab the nut when there are many of them close C-C to each other, but it's a start. :)

Joe, They use a hook type spanner to tighten them, not sure how that will work for your setup.

Good luck with that...

Since this probably is a one-off job, why not make your own wrench top by milling the nut profile into the end of a thick-walled piece of pipe. Weld a handle on or drill an offset cross hole for however long a handle the customer would like.

A two hour job, max - And that includes a sandblasting & and a coat of paint. ;)

Well, it's not a one off... We regularly sell ER32 down to 1.969" or even closer with some "funny play" involved... It's just that I am limited to two closely spaced spindles and I often get asked for three or more.
