To bend or Not to bend, that is the question?

No not spam or an advert for increasing length by 2 inches.

In a discussion the other day it was raised as to "Best Practice" whether to bend a wire before inserting it into a terminal.

The discussion followed along the following tracks:

Solid core wire of 1.5mm inserted into a screw down terminal such as a socket terminal. Bend or not?

Multi strand core in same fitting? Bend or not?

Telephone solid core cable into Disconnect terminal bloke (SAKAR type)?

Equipment wire into same type of fitting as 1.?

The question is around the practice of bending the stripped core back on itself effectively doubling the thickness of the core.

So Bend or Not?

This is from a tradesmans point of view. The ideal answer would be no. But if the termination point is not sized properly, the answer is yes. Basically we are going to get the job done with the materiel provided.
