Fire Extinguisher accident update

I have had quite a few folks email me and also post and ask the question, so I guess its only fitting to sum it all up and to post it all here, as I had quite a bit of emails etc from you guys over this incident.

The wife is doing fine. She suffers blurred vison and balance problems, some hearing loss in the ear on the side of impact and some memory loss. She has absolutely no recollection of the qaccident after it impacted her head, but she appeared coherent all along. Weird.

She is going to be on anti -siezure pills for about a year which I am told is a standard proceedure in cases like this when a skull is penetrated and the lining integrity broken etc. No permanent impairments are expected, and all should be fine with time. She will need a plate installed at a later date due to the remaining size of missing skull, but they said it can be done without any worry and its usually a one or two day stay for such, since its just under the skin and not entering the brain or lining area. I bought her a rock climbing hard hat to wear around in the meantime, as a bump in this area could do her in.

I have to get some of the upper section of my jaw bone taken out as it was never really taken care of after the accident, and it has not healed like it should have so it has a large gap between the pieces were it was broke, that is basically filling in with new growth, but it needs trimming down to correct the gum line. I could not really take the time to have my minor problems taken care of while she was in the shape she was in, so I put it off. Teeth are still loose, but getting somewhat tighter, and I am going to be getting 3 implanted teeth to replace those in the front and side, after they finish up with the jaw bone. Heck it don't hurt, but feels awfully funny inside your mouth as not only teeth were knocked out but the jawbone directly surrounding the teeths roots towards the outer edges under the lips. So all in all things are going as fine as one could expect, and in some regards better than expected.

I don;t think I will ever get all the dry chemical out of my truck. Insurance paid to have to cleaned professionally, and you can make a trip in it to town and the powder is still migrating out of nooks and cranies.

All I can say is it just was not our time yet as it sure could have been much worse.

My wife and I want to express our thanks and gratitude to all. We really appreciate your concern. It meant an awfull lot to her and I. Regards and thanks again guys, y'all a terrific group to be associatyed with.
