Sheetmetal Form Features

The first time through placing a form feature, the smaller window that opens up showing the form model does not open up. Have to cancel out of the form feature creation and restart - the second time through does open the window w/ the form feature - Is there a fix for this?

It fixed the dorky rev 18 style assembly constraints interface. But apparently not the problem of the form window getting hidden behind the main graphics window. This has always happened with Menu Manager style independent, floating windows. In any case, you should see a Form Placement window. I thought this might have the controls at the top, like normal assembly functionality, where you can where you can select placement in the part window. If you could just place the form in the part window for assembly, problem solved. But, maybe, if you do Alt-tab through open windows, one will show up as your form part. That's one of the things I do when that window gets 'lost'. Another thing that works to bring it back to the front is to first pick an assembly reference on the part, then, either by itself, or by clicking on the get select arrow, it should pop to the front. If you don't even see the Form Placement window, Alt-tab and hunt for that first. You may have to minimize other programs running full screen. Pro/e doesn't know from APIs nor does it seem to have much of an idea of screen design and using screen regions vs. its fetish for slipping, sliding, popping, hiding, floating windows. So they get lost. That's all that I think is involved here. If the Form Placement window doesn't even open (hidden or not), you've got a more serious problem than one of Pro/e's typical weaknesses.

The alt-tab thing does allow me to hunt to the formed feature, but just odd that the second time through placing the feature it opens normally - both windows that is.

Would be nice if you could suspend the form feature allowing you to edit it should it fail
