fine. i dont doubt how things were done back then.
um, "past" certifications dont provide proof of welder qualifications anywhere and i never suggested otherwise. if you read my post youll notice i clearly stated that i recently recertified because i had gotten out of the welding industry for awhile. "past" certifications are worthless anywhere. _current_ certifications are the only certifications ive referenced. if you dont think it holds water, walk onto ft. bragg and apply for a welding job and tell him of your vast experience as a welder. when they cut you off and ask for a notorized copy of your current certification, watch how quickly they show you the door when you cant produce one.
i seriously doubt it. ive been to military bases all over the country from ft. bragg north carolina to ft. wainwright alaska and the standards are the same. no certification, no welding.
i dont doubt that since youre referencing nearly 30 years ago. who cares about 30 years ago? this entire conversation is dealing with modern day standards.
are you suggesting that you can erect a building or build a bridge in nevada if you can pass the jobsite certification with no approved AWS course certification? please answer this directly.
please explain. dont generalize either, as that would be hypocritical of you. i have not generalized, i have given you _facts_ that you or anyone else here can validate on your own just by picking up the phone (although most already know what ive stated is true already).
lol....now thats rich. i can tell you this, im an AWS D1.1 certified welder. question my abilities all you want. :-)
DOH! i FINALLY realized why you respond negatively to my posts. arent you the same guy who in the atv newsgroup 2 years ago told me that i was "swine" because i didnt serve in viet nam, although i was all of 3 years old when that war ended? its a shame steve, i had hoped you would have come to terms with certain things that torment you by now.
