As I recall Britian doesn't report all of their gun crimes. Even over here we don't report how many times a person saves his or herself with a gun, jut becaomes another crime statistic.

As I undersand it Britian has huge problems with armed gains robbing unarmed senior citizens. Where did they get the guns?

Yea, they are free to laugh at us because WE make that freedom possible. (Make no mistake, your official language would most likely be either Japanese or German if it wasn't for us!) Don't forget, we also slaughtered thousands of those guys to insure oz didn't become a summer resort for the Axis. The biggest mistake this country is making now is foreign aid. The same thing I said above goes for you. We don't expect you to help us or be part of the solution, just get out of our way. "Liberal Socialists" is, as far as I'm concerned, an insult. Socialism, taking from those according to their ability and giving to those according to their need, is simply another term for Communism. We all know how that grand experiment worked for the USSR. The problem is in the extremes. I believe that the one failing Capitalism has is that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer until there are so many poor that they decide to take it all away from the rich by force. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know that there isn't a country on the earth that is A) Socialists and B)Prosperous. You know, the USA sure takes a LOT of heat about Iraq. I remember after the Viet Nam war, when most of the whole country of Cambodia was murdered. I actually read articles that said the USA should have intervened and prevented it. One guy wrote that it would be a "moral stain" on the conscious of America that we did nothing while 6 MILLION Cambodians were murdered. Well, Saddam and his sons will never use chemical weapons on defenseless civilians again. Thanks to us! Bill Still Damn Proud to be AMERICAN.

Nonsense. Economics is not a zero-sum game. That is, wealth is not finite. Wealth can be created. My gaining wealth does not require that another lose wealth.

Keep in mind that the 'poor' in the USA have a higher standard of living than 90% of the population of the rest of the world.

As much as I detest these non-modeling harangues damning my country I have to speak out - just this once.

I have always thought because of the blessings our country has had bestowed upon it that we were obligated to help out those less fortunate. After some of the exchanges I've seen on this forum I'm beginning to have second thoughts. I would love to get back my grandfathers Enfield he donated to arm the English Home Guard so that they could defend the realm.

Just don't get REAL sick, the stats of the number of people who die waiting for treatment is scary.

You will always have criminals in possession of guns. We have laws on the books that make using guns in the commission of a crime a major felony. We also have bleeding heart liberal socialists who do not want those laws enforced. (Criminals are not responsible for their actions, they are victims of their environment;>) When we do manage to get them enforced, gun crime figures drop.

It was pointed out to me, and I have to agree that what really pisses off most of the world is the fact that we are the only country on the face of the earth who guarantees all citizens "The right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" That's from the Declaration of Independence, 1776. Is that why there isn't any shortage of people wanting to come here?
