Whoa! Let me know if you sell it.

I have 3 sealed, in mint condition. I'll let them all go for $599.00 and throw in the shipping. ; ) (Just joking)

Woulda had 4 but 1 is right in the middle of "construction to destruction."

Almost everbody's got at least one (or more) of the Estes 30th Anniversary Saturn V kits already. $200 sounds way too high. They go for between $50 & $80 in the auctions all the time. -- Richard "maybe he's way too high" Hickok

Actually, back about the fall of 1998 there was an auction frenzy right here on rmr and one of the model 2001 kits went for well over $200.00. A mint condition K series Centuri kit from the late 60's still might bring more than that for a collector, NOT a builder.

Verna picked up the last one the local Hobby Lobby had just before last Christmas with a 1/2 off coupon for $49.00. There are still a few from the last production run out there for about $89.00.

The Centuri kits go for as much as $233.50 US e.g. eBay 21.12.2003.

The Estes kits much much less.

OK, I should not have said not in my lifetime, since people are willing to pay that :) (I wouldn't) For that kinda moolah, I'd get an Apogee SV.

Me neither!

That would be a good choice.

That's why we're doing our 3 stage attempt on the $49.00 kit. If it doesn't make it, we're really not out that much, just some time and besides, we're enjoying the build and figuring out the little details. Still got 3 more waiting and it's just a matter of time before Estes releases it again. If by some freak accident it actually flies as intended, even if just once, it will be the rocketry success of MY life time.

I've never been a collector, I like to fly too much. Doing something different is half the fun, as long as it's safe.

How come the BATFE isn't after Mr. W. E. Coyote? And does Mr. E. Fudd have a license for his shotgun?

Who says they're not? I'll bet there is a BATFE assault van with a barrel of dip shaking up all the speak easys looking for W. E. Coyote. IF they don't find him soon, they'll just frame the Rabbit.

Actually, Mr. Coyote IS legal. As an employee of Warner Brothers using explosives as part of his job, he is covered by any permit Warner Brothers has. Additionally, before last May he was simply making in-state and on-site purchases, legal under then current rules. Several high ranking people ("in the know", wink, wink) have told people they know who have posted information on a website (which has since been changed) that Mr. Coyote became a contractor for the Federal Government due to his extensive background in combining rockets with high explosives. After several unfortunate incidents involving anvils, freight trains, and bird seed, Mr. Coyote was paid a handsome severance fee and released from his contract. Word on the plateau has it that he is now looking to purchase an ailing rocket company.
