EPR - Patent Pending

Elderly Person Retriever - Patent Pending :

Now we have an aging propulation and here's a situation that often occurs. The elderly person does not rely on a wheelchair but walks. However the elderly person may walk too far and have trouble returning. So the elderly person must be retrieved.

Now consider large skateboards, little aluminum stand-up push scooters, and children's little red wagons.

The Elderly Person Retriever is about as wide as two large skateboads side by side but with about 4" to 6" of space between the two skateboads. Now that's just the width of the EPR platform while the length will be a little longer than the length of a large skateboard. But the EPR platform will be made out of aluminum like the little stand-up push scooters. Next the EPR has a little aluminum fold-up seat. The seat is not large but has some amount of side and back. Now the wheels are larger than skateboard wheels so they are about the size of the wheels on a little red wagon and thus the wheels are outside of the platform. Finally since the EPR is low to the ground it has a pull handle. Oh, the weight will be about 15 pounds...

Of course someone could take a children's little red wagon, cut the back out of it, and add a seat...as that seat height would be about the same as the EPR.

But what does the wheelchair industry have ? There's a Quickie Revolution that weighs 23 pounds and folds small enough for the overhead bin of an airliner. It costs about $1200 while a more basic all aluminum folding wheelchair weighs about 28 pounds and costs about $800. Now a seat width of

16" is too small for regular use but wide enough for temporary use. And the wider the seat the wider the wheelchair...

And with the EPR the rider could face forward or backwards. If facing forward the seat is low but high enough that the feet can rest on the platform near in to the seat. If the rider is facing rearward the seating position could be the same as when facing forward or the seat could be flat on the platform and have fold-out U-shaped ankle holders...

Oh, the EPR can have small wheels like the scooter or skateboard but in that case a pull rope is used where a V-shape of the rope attaches to each chair armrest...or a pull handle has a v-shape that snaps onto each armrest.
