How to make uniform microdrops?

I am trying to make(dispense) polymer microdrops with diferent volume ( range from 0.1 ulit to 10 ulit) on a glass slide and It is not working. Do you have any suggestion about this? I apprecitae your help.

Thanks, Shahab

Ink jet print head.

The vapor pressure above a small droplet is inverse to the radius. This is meaning that small droplets are not stable, as the smaller they are, the quicker they evaporate.

Thanks Rene. The thing is that I have polymer and they do not evaporate easily. The problem that I have is that I can not create uniform drops (say all 10 um in diameter).

I am not sure if I understand your question right. If your polymer is already in a solution form (and the solution is non-volatile), can you use a positive displacement micro-pipette to dispense the drop onto the glass slide?

For tiny drops people use sometimes an Atomic Force Microscope with a nano-jet probe. Try Ohkouchi S., FESTA, Japan.

Ps. They use it for inorganic deposition , but should work as well for some of the polymers.
