BORLANDS DELPHI & SOLIDWORKS

Our inhouse programmer told me to ask this question. Can you use delphi to write programs for solidworks? Can you access all the apis or are you stuck with visual basic? If I start with a recorded macro would he be able to modify

I think the application we have is better suited to acad & autolisp any way. Picture the armature plates of an electric motor, the inside 'hub' of the plate remains the same but the outer perimeter which consists of 100 or so slots must rotate a fraction of a degree over 420 unique parts. All we need is a 2D DXF file of each part to load into the CAM software for programming the laser.

Just fishing for ideas, any help appreciated.

Been there done that. All you can do with vb and SW you can do with delphi and SW + more I used delphi v3 and v5 both worked with SW2003/05. I switched in favor of .net but looking back #@@$#!%$# C# is complete mess but its paying bills ...

I am considering switching over to .net. What kinds of problems did you run into?

Thanks,

Ed, apparently Mike's problem is that C# is not C++. It's about the same over here. C# is in many ways a better C++ than C++. You can get twice as much done in half the time, and then give it all back with interest later futzing with .NET and COM details that are not at all problems in C++. Both are good. However, I don't understand how Delphi can be considered in the same running.
