Far from "confounding" anyone, Prandtl showed clear back in the dawn of aviation that a flat plate was one of a class of airfoils which are directly amenable to a quantitative mathematical analysis. And no, I did not put McLaren up to his posting to try to trap you. I expect McLaren knows the above as he appears to have had a tech education of some type.
