Do these specs seem believable?

Yea, I guess if you wanted to hang a 29 speed gear box on the Jag engine and suffer from having to stop every few hundred miles to overhaul it (not to mention the broken parts from revving the snot out of it just to get the load moving), I guess you COULD use a Jag engine in a lorry.

The real reason is that lower revving diesels with their massive amount of torque are far better suited to hauling heavy loads. Same reason a Nelson FIRE isn't used in aerobatics.

And, if you think fuel economy isn't important to lorry operators, you are in a REAL fantasy world!

:) Basically you can't, not for the very best anyway because they're hand built. These are the 2.5cc CL speed engines and very few people have the expertise to use them. The last figure I read about them was about 5 years ago where the then world record holder produced 2.7HP on the dyno (you don't get inflated manufacturer's figures with them :). Next in line would be the nitro boat and car engines and possibly pylon. Their specific power is more limited because they need to have a somewhat broader power band for acceleration so pipe settings aren't as critical.
