Does RF work on Server 2003? I asked GP and the answer was sort of "some of us have it running on 2003 but it's not on the official list, so...".

Use OpenGL instead of DirectX, and then port it to Linux.
How about following up on your post?
Can't stand web forums. The UIs all suck rocks.
I (quixotically) second that request!
LONG LIVE LINUX! Now if we can just convince Adobe and Macromedia to switch gears...

You're a good man, Sancho! Hand me my lance, I see another giant on the horizon...
Hi There
Nice to see mfgs and distribs reading the posts - so I thought I would mention that there are many millions of Apple Mac users out here - and some of us would like to see a r/c simulator? Think about it hey.
David
I have about 15 years of Linux experience so I can definitely see the appeal of an OpenGL/Linux version. We're trying to get away from our DirectX dependence.
I'll keep tabs on rec.models.rc.air but if you want to contact me directly then seek me out at my usual haunts.

Most people use Windows(XP). Get over the fact you use some oddball o/s and someone should give a rats ass about your computer.
Actually, in Microsoft's last look into the matter, there were more systems worldwide running 95 and 98 then all the rest put together. That's why they are pushing all these new features in Web pages that need IE6 or higher. Can't put it on a 95 machine, and wont be long before they "fix" IE so it wont run on 98. And yes, there are many of us that like an OS that is smaller than the XP patches.
A) That's simply not true.
2) If a billion people do a stupid thing, it's still a stupid thing. ;)
That last sentance doesn't even make sense.
He asked for suggestions, I gave him one. He's free to ignore it. I suspect that the sales of a Linux port cant justify the cost required to switch from DirectX to OpenGL.
How do you get 15 years of Linux experience when Linus didn't even begin developing it until 1991? ;-)
We could be using OS/2, but IBM has always had rather crappy marketing. I liked OS/2 and hoped mightly that IBM would succeed - but alas......
David
We could have been using CP/M. The last 'popular' 8086 OS that actually WORKED.
Gary Kildall, RIP.
gawd..it IS that long, isn't it :-(

Yup. And we had to walk 10 miles to work in snow so deep we tripped over telegraph wires and then had to chop wood for the stove when we got there.
Good point. My first experience with LINUX was in 1994 or 1995.
My experience with UNIX prior to 1991 was less than day-to-day, so we can call it 13 years if you are keeping track. :)

Probably he most inglorious but utterly reliable OS ever made.
Didn't do a lot, but what it did do, it did with no glitches whatsoever...
