There isn't any metal in a TV. It's a single card about the size of a baby AT system board and a few ancillary cards for the controls and tube neck. I haven't seen a hot chassis TV since they took the vacuum tubes out ... about the time we landed on the moon

This is true but you don't see any bulky transformers in a modern TV either. The ground in the circuitry is still connected directly to the line voltage source, in most cases.

These are basically the same switcher power supplies you see in a PC, just a lot smaller. They use the flyback circuit to provide all the voltages they need. That is why a TV " struck by lightning" is basically "toast". The surge affects all voltages and goes everywhere. It also explains why there isn't a TV repair in every strip mall like we had in the 50s and 60s. These things have become Bic lighters, nothing to fix.

That's it:

All you needs to do is slide an adapter over it. haven't you any kits by now?

I thought he needed to Re-Patriate It =(the plug) and all It needs to do is learn to Converse.

It may be that some tech wired it to the frame on specs for a better or stronger Physical Attachment, as long as the Enclosure Or Device Box is totally & Electrically Isolated from the Entire Circuit. ABS is no Wonder.

Why Warnings:

*Do Not Open or Attempt to open while Unit is Plugged In. *No Serviceble Parts Inside [which s bull too] *Plus Universal Shock Hazard Symbol The Miniature Lightening Bolt enclosed in a Red Circle Line for the otherwise challenged.

Suppose Some Places may still use this attachment approach With or Without Strain Relief just through a Bushing of Sorts to protect the wire.

nobody is yanking that off so easily.
