Each Year, the Dan David Prize selects three fields of achievement, corresponding to the three time dimensions. For the 2005 prize the selected fields are -archaeology (past), the performing arts (present), and materials science (future).
The prize of 1 million USD for the future time dimension will be granted to an individual or individuals who have made novel discoveries in one or more of these areas - chemical and electrochemical materials, electronic and optical materials, biomaterials, and in the understanding of nanoscale phenomena and nanomaterials.
The Prize is an international and cross-cultural enterprise endowed by the Dan David Foundation and administered by Tel Aviv University.
Nomination of candidates for the 2005 award is now open, and will close on 25 November 2004.
