Water tank

Gentlemen,

I have searched up hill and down dale for a suitable water tank for my Lister L and have ended up with a plastic water butt. You wouldn't think that 20 gal oil type drums were like hens teeth. Several people have suggested Gas bottles cut down to size but I think that it wont look right, then neither does my choice but at least its complete. I'll try and hide it so its not to obvious :-))

Thanks Mike, I am currently using one of those dimensions and have to keep changing the water for cold to control the temperature because it is not big enough.

Hi martin the only place that I think you may be able to get a 20 gal drum is a parts washer Co they recycle the fluid its the type of cleaner that goes on top of the drum and you just change it wen its full of crap I even tried Morris oil for you just in case I needed to order 20 gals of some oil quick but no luck they have not done them for a long time Nick

He's right you know, I spent ages with the bit between my electronic teeth, but came up blank. All I can suggest now is a section of water pipe or something of that ilk.

The other suggestion is a proper radiator, of course.

Martin If you haven't already set your sights on screen cooling, it's worth trying Smiths of the Forest of Dean.

have steel drums amongst their bewildering array of plastic stuff. I have a couple out the back of the machine shop, although they've probably got a few dents in by now. I'll take a look.

Try looking in Yellow Pages under Drums, Kegs, Barrels and Casks. I bought a brand new 20 gallon drum for a 6/1 about 4 years ago from a company in Durham. Just rang them up, explained that I wanted one for show purposes and could they run off an extra barrel (no lid req'd) on the next run. Paid about =A316, incl. Tony's wedge, in advance and collected about 2 weeks later. No dents. No rust. Regards, D=2EC.
