Has anyone ever built a plasma cutter and, if not, why?
High voltage high current high frequency switchers aren't the sort of thing that most people are able to attempt at home. The details are critical, and the slightest mistake tends to be very expensive. Even the guys who do it for a living blow up their share as they develop new products.
