21st Century Coverite Covering

While at Top Gun,I spoke with a master scale builder who has use

Coverite(at the request of the owner) for over 15 years. However, h has had trouble with recently purchased Coverite which ,he says, doesn' stick like earlier purchases. He claims that Tower has changed th adhesive formula since they took over responsibility for the product Balsarite doesn't help.At a very large hobby shop located near Top Gu this was confirmed by a customer who was listening to my conversatio with one of the senior hobbyist that work there. Would appreciate an comments from the field regarding this issue, since I'm about to cover Giant scale model

IMO, Coverite adhesive has always sucked. The adhesive is "soft". After you iron down a seam, if you hit it with the heat gun, it will release. On the plus side, the stuff shrinks great.

However, I prefer to use one of the "Tex" coverings, such as Solartex or Colortex.
