Was doing a quick crosscountry test. Pickup driver, pilot and safety man, no beer. Weekend idea and it worked except for a two inch prop cut in my forearm. Several papertowels and #64 rubberbands kept it from bleeding until the flight was over, then had it sewed up.

There's more than one Hobby Lobby out there. One of them, which does mail order and has stores in Californa, sells R/C stuff. They've got some good stuff.

Here in Texas, we've got one that sells craft stuff and no R/C.

Both are called Hobby Lobby, but they are very different.

Too late (for me), but it was on the way anyway.

AFAIK, the Senior Telemaster (95 inch span) has been pretty much always available.

Exactly! I seem to recall the Telemaster design came from Germany. Where they used it to string cable lead lines between mountain tops. I think a Telemaster requiring struts comes from the same line of thought that requires two wings in order to fly.

AFAIK, there is no known structural defect in the design of the plane, BUT the struts cost next to nothing, weigh next to nothing, and they do add an extra level of wing retention security.

Basically I added struts to the plane for the same reason that I put "flying wires" on the tail of nearly every plane that I build. Namely, it can't hurt, and it could help.
