as a pattern flier and competitor and a user of macs pipes since 1980,

couldnt let some of the posts go....properly setup pipes have grea throttle transition, doh! wonder why pattern two stroke guys still us them???? they are setup for lower rpm resonance, i think many of th posters here never RTFM! as usual....

I began using muffled tuned pipes in the late Seventies. Some engines throttle well with them, others are a little cranky, depending upon how short you run the pipe/how much you load the engine. I ran OS and Webra engines mostly back then and I tended to run my pipes a tad long, for more pull going uphill.

With that said, there was usually at least a slight stumble when going on the pipe, making throttling non linear. I've never had a set up where you couldn't sense the engine go on the pipe. This would not be good for 3D flying/throttling at all.

I don't mind it when other people's opinions differ from mine. After all, I know that mine is correct and if other opinions differ, they are simply wrong.
