I know it is true in Florida. My wife tried to use the driver's license book in court and they simply told her it was wrong. The judge gave her a suspended sentence but she was still "guilty". (no money, no points)

Florida passed a law allowing private inspections and permitting and that can apply to homeowners if the job is less than a certain amount or a certain number of square feet. They still haven't figured out what that really means but I am thinking they should allow a private company to advise and inspect homeowners. I just haven't had time to pursue it. They are already doing this on some commercial jobs with the AHJ just spot checking the private inspectors. In commercial you need to be a licensed engineer and licensed inspector. I think you only need to be an inspector for residential. The AHJs are pissing their pants over this.
The problem with simplifying the NEC is it has to be all things to all people and still have the force of law. Every time they rewrirte something someone finds a place where it is not going to apply. That is why we have a ROP that is
3" thick every 3 years. (Looks like a big city phone book) Write a proposal and you will get one for free. The form is on the NFPA web site and in the back of the NEC. Anyone can do it.On 21 Nov 2004 03:28:11 GMT Greg wrote: |> If that book does |>not accurately state the law, then they should not be giving it out to |>people. So what was the book wrong about?
It is not accepted anywhere in Florida, we are all on NFPA 70, unaltered. I thought we were talking about the Phil Simmons book. ISBN 1-890659-19-3
The significance of the striping on the road, specifically when you can change lanes. I probably still have all the exhibits she used in court as JPGs (pictures of the signs, the book and the road stripes) but the cop always wins.
