Copper wire in sand & freshwater?

I want to put a "copper transfomer" type of insulated wire 20AWG to

30AWG in sand with fresh water but do not know how much spacing I must respect. About 10 volt, 5 Amp, 60Hz...

How will I calculate the spacing needed? Where can I find the of Permittivity of water & sand

for what purpose? trying to make the worms come out?

spacing of what? the turns of a coil?
