Link is NG, but if you are asking if romex is suitable for speaker wire, the short answer is yes, but the solid conductors and overall stiffness make it difficult to connect to many speakers and amplifiers.
A much better option is a heavy gauge "zip cord" such as the stuff sold for running low voltage landscape lighting.

It's at HD, under 'sun resistant landscaping' cable, low voltage. Coleman Cable, 100' stranded. 12/2.
$24.98
That's the stuff I was talking about. Makes great speaker wire, and loads cheaper than that "monster cable" crap....

Thanks Bob

Broken link. The clue should have been where it says: "Session ID..." Etc.

If it is stranded, sure.
The ideal speaker cable, if you aren't buying it made for the purpose is a braided set of stranded wire cables. The braid cancels out external influences, and

Copper works too, but the silver is the best. There is also silver clad (not plated) copper wire that would be good.

Bigger Gauge too. Likely not as pure on the copper. The guy with the $40k setup will hear the hiss... teresis. :-]
You have to install these for power receptacles, though.
Don't forget the oxygen-free copper romex, gold-plated circuit breaker panel, and cryogenically-treated pole transformer to feed the fancy new receptacle, though....

All this to listen to my 8-track collection? Forget it!

To me, there is no such thing as a 20 Amp dual receptacle that is worth $150. They don't exist. Maybe $30. Even that is high.

They're all probably stretched anyway. That was such a sad design to incorporate and not insure that the inner hub doesn't tense up on the tape.
