RC Racers.

Howdy All,

I've been looking at the Lego RC vehicles and am having difficult understanding the difference between the Direct Crusher RC @$139.99 and the Red Beast RC @$39.99. What does the 100 bucks get me besides a cooler looking controller.

Thanks in Advance Tom

I have two Dirt Crushers, and they are serious RC cars. They take proper standard RC batteries. The one that ships with it is only 800 mAh and will run for about 10-15 minutes, I use a couple of 3000 mAh's, each one will power a DC for about 45 minutes. You can get this in any RC hobby store, or eBay.

The Red thingy takes normal cells, so I suspect it would be not more than a toy really.

We also have one of the older "racing car" style ones, that's too fast t

too fast to use indoors really, but not robust enough to use outdoors.

Also, the DCs have three gears, which give you more control, from quite quick, to really fast. They're also tough, bashing into and bouncing off things. You can also rebuild them into mutliple configurations.

Not having one of the red ones, I can't directly compare, but I suspect that the difference between them is significant, the DC is a serious piece of kit.

I Got two of these bad boys for my sons, 3Ah batteries on the way. They are really fun, too bad I have to give them to my boys on Christmas, Maybe they'll give me a turn :-> these 11:00pm races are just no fun.

Thanks Angus! Talk to ya, Tom
