Have you guys seen the new Ilco Tech Bulletin about the fact that cutters are being smoked attempting to cut the newer Toyota factory blanks?
I really had a chuckle when I read their comment about a possible solution to the problem being to use a titanium nitride coating.
It was apparent to me that who ever penned this bulletin is not a machinist. Coating the cutter will do nothing to solve the problem, slowing down the cutter to the proper speed will.
