AEG drill parts

I've got an ancient (15 years old) AEG hammer drill/ regular drill that recently burnt up the variable speed switch while doing some heavy drilling in some 1/2 steel.

Anyone have a source for replacement parts for such a beast? This is a pretty "vanilla" looking variable speed switch (with trigger lock) that I've seen on numerous tools over the years, but for the life of me, I cant seem to find a recent tool that uses such a switch. Sems as if everything is more contoured, etc.

No luck finding an AEG service center here in the states, and if I did, I'm betting they would tell me they no longer stock things. I hate to give up on this tool, since it has been a workhorse for years without complaint.

Thanks in advance,

Vin

IIRC, AEG is Milwaukee Electric Tool now.

I have an old AEG that is probably the best small hammer drill I have ever used. It is black and uses SDS bits. If it breaks this is one tool I would try to fix.

AEG, Chicago Pneumatic, and Milwaukee are now all part og a European company -- Atlas Copco if I remember correctly. I believe you can get many AEG parts thru the Milwaukee channel.

For power tool trigger switches, I have found that my local hardware store has a wide selection of universal replacements. They are stocked in one of those pull out plastic drawers/trays in the same section as motor brushes, lamp parts, and specialty fasteners.

Err, 'tis a bit different. Milwaukee Tools disappeared a while ago - was acquired by Sweden's Atlas Copco who also own: Chicago Pneumatic, Georges Renault, Rental Service, Prime Equipment, Prime Energy, AEG, Rand-Air and Kango.

I'm not sure, if I need a chisel I use my larger Bosch hammer, but it doesn't pack the same punch for the weight and size of the tool.
