Fearless Phosgene

An article about a hazard of heated solvents. I use brake cleaner to clean metal before TIG welding, and also have sprayed it on hot engines checking for vacuum leaks. I have heard that an air conditoner system running R-12 bursting onto hot exhaust can also create Phosgene.

Any 'Freon'.

and that was MILD Phosgene gas effects. Imagine being in the trenchs of WWI no mask no protective gear and getting a full does. You die... Now you understand why I say EVER house in america has WMD's under the sink, in the garage, in the laundry room, the garden shed (nasty stuff called organophosphates gives you S.LU.D.G.E. look it up) shudder and I trained to deal with this stuff. Makes me wish I could keep a Mark I kit on hand
