Most of your suggestions are quite pointless if you are using electricity for heating since switiching off one source of heat (eg. your light bulb) will be compensated by the heating control by using a bit more power. If you are using oil or gas for heating and paying a lot less per kw/hr than for electricity you will save something but not as much as you thought. Of coure your hospital bills for fixing injuries caused by blundering about in the dark may well cancel out all your savings.

You are catching on, a lot of this green stuff is BS. That is the north American English abbreviation for bull excrement incase BS isn't in your vernacular.

Besides, it begin winter up here in my hemisphere, waste heat from appliances isn't exactly an energy loss to me.
