Crazy ass thought. If the chain is pinned to the tool on one end, and free on the other end, to fit into the "channel-and-hook" receiver, couldn't you just buy a short length of the equivalent standard roller chain, and put the new segment between the original and the tool. That way, you would still have the extended chain pins on the free end.
Just a thought.

Does that chain happen to be the same size as used on the pipe grabbing vice-grips?
