Ah *ha*. I bought a pair of step pulleys awhile ago from McM and they had seriously excessive runout. Real real bad. Back they went. I then started looking at them in local hardware stores. All real bad. I looked in the Browning Morse catalog. Nothing looked promising. I had resolved to make my own from now on. I did make one, but it was a custom size to make my bandsaw run true to its speed chart.
Today, however, I found a vendor who looks real good. They are selling machined & balanced cast iron step pulleys with 2" 3" 4" diameters, either 5/8" 3/4" or 7/8" bore. They aren't replacements for drill press pulleys (probably the wrong size) but they can certainly be used for speed control on a belt sander, which is what they're being sold for.
