The case of the $909 parking ticket

I stumbled across it one day on the net, while staggering around after over medicating on Niquill cold medication. Rather than putting it down like an injured gopher and pitching it into the closet dumpster, I brought the poor baby home and nursed it along and after training it to not eat the drapes or root out the grout on the smoking room parquett, I included it in my library of interesting bits.

I once actually tried to retrace my steps and discover its origin, but evidently Id again taken too much Niquill, and wound up in a habadasery in Cucamonga, all to no avail, though I did get quite a bargain on a nice cravat.

"If thy pride is sorely vexed when others disparage your offering, be as lamb's wool is to cold rain and the Gore-tex of Odin's raiment is to gullshit in the gale, for thy angst shall vex them not at all. Yea, they shall scorn thee all the more. Rejoice in sharing what you have to share without expectation of adoration, knowing that sharing your treasure does not diminish your treasure but enriches it."

Parts of it seem familiar but my rememberer is in sleep mode. If I use it, should I say I got it from Gunner?

One definite advantage up here is no law enforcement officers or judges are elected. LEOs are hired, and judges appointed. The training for a local LEO up here is closer to what your 'Fibbies" get.

I am not sure that is always an advantage. As a rule the only law enforcement officer that is elected is the county sheriff. All others are either appointed and serve at the pleasure of the executive branch, or are civil service positions.

This country's judicial officers are a mix. Federal judges are appointed for life by the President but must pass muster with the Senate. The only way to get rid of them is through impeachment, and that is rare.

State Judges are elected but often are appointed to fill vacant positions and only stand the test of the voters if opposed and sometimes they are required to be reconfirmed from time to time by the electorate. An example of the latter was several year ago in CA the Chief Justice and several voted out of office when they patently refused to allow any capitol cases to be carried out. The voters had made the decision that in fact there were times when capitol punishment was appropriate, so out they went.

I really do not perceive either system as tending to politicize the judiciary or the law enforcement community to any appreciable degree.

Both of our countries legal systems seem to have more in common than they have appreciable differences.

I think you are GUILTY as hell, and all this BS about how you are innocent and the police are picking on you for no apparrent reason stinks to high heaven. You admit in one of your posts that you were going ten miles over the speed limit driving a TRUCK on the Golden Gate, and you are trying get out on a technicality. And what is your point posting all this crap on a group about metal workers, if I want any legal info I watch court TV. Now go pay the fine like a good boy,and stop wasting my taxes.

Marc,

Thank you for your opinion.

You admit in one of

While you do not read to carefully, I did not admit to any such thing. When I was cited for the Golden Gate incident it was in an Oldmobile Delta 88, not a truck.

and

I posted it because I thought some of the folks here would like to hear the story. If you read as far as the Golden Gate ticket you must have noticed by then it was not an on topic post but you read that far anyway, so I really do not fell that I wasted your time either.

Certainly here in he UK we appreciate the fight of David Versus Goliath. Beaurocracy is a problem here as well and we do all we can too to beat it too. Dont apologise for posting, its important to hear how youve made a stand against a bully. Keep us all posted as to progress. One final thought, dont talk to anyone in the PD or officialdom without making a sound recording of the conversation. Cover your ass at all times. As you know theres an art in getting others to do what you want without them knowing it.

I really would not classify the cop as a bully. He IMO is just not too bright.

Court is on Wednesday, so I should have an update by 1:00 PM pacific time.

Heck, I am not worried about anything I have to say to them. I suspect that if I was going to get a fight I probably would have received a reply brief by now.
