I don't think there's a lot to choose between Harrogate and Donington although Donington does seem a little long at nearly a week.
I went up on Friday for the bi-annual Cynical Traders meeting. Managed to get away without being badly mauled in the wallet.
Two bad points of the day, one was buying a small 3" double ended grinder with flex shaft off Chronos, ideal I though for two small diamond wheels for touching the boring tools up with. Got it back and plugged it in but it immediately poured smoke out without anything getting close to the wheel. Oh well that goes back Monday, pity really as it was so tidy.
Second bad point was my companion for lunch never showed, I was 'so' disappointed. Only slightly made up for it my getting Blackmore to buy the coffee's.
One good thing came out of the day and that was a flyer waiting for me when I got back. From a firm called Tools -To-Go who I have dealt with before, they do their own range of import goods. Flyer was listing amongst other things,
Mains hammer drill, forward and reverse 810W £8.00 inc VAT
6" Bench grinder coarse and fine wheels 200W motor £8.00 inc VAT 9 speed pillar drill with 5/8" chuck 500W motor and vise £30.00 inc VAT Best one yet Multimeter, usual digital simple thing £1.50 inc VATTwo branches, one at Nottingham on Hucknall Rd, Sherwood 0115 962 0962 and one at Hope St Hanley Stoke on Trent 01782 212050
Went up today and got a few bench grinders and multimeters, seem very good for the money.

John .. was that your video of hobbing using the digital stepping technique on the club stand (forget the club)?
Alan
I thought that the video in play was from the guy who came up with the original idea, Brian Thompson. In johns post he gave him credit for providing the idea, and some credit to one who shall not be named!
-- Cheers Adrian.
I thought I recognised your mill and gearbox John, hence the question. No intention in my original post to deny credit to Mr. Thompson for the idea.
