Tiny screw supplier?

Sep 06, 2005 5 Replies

Hi folks. I hope someone can suggest a supplier for tiny machine screws, nuts and washers. The specs for the part I'm trying to mount (a tiny PCB) say to use 0-80 screws and nuts, but I think M1.4 or M1.5 should be fine as the hole itself isn't threaded. M1.6 unfortunately seems a smidgen too big and that's the smallest size I've been able to find.

Any suggestions for suppliers or types of suppliers (clock makers? opticians?) appreciated. I only need a couple of dozen.

And the light goes on... Thanks Ian, I spent an hour searching the web last night but without the magic word 'micro'. I've found a couple of promising leads now.

Cheers,

Tim

Try doing a search for Acorn Fasteners, they are in Lingfield, near East Grinstead and have all sorts of things there - they will supply you in any amount

Actually, already had them bookmarked:

Try millhill supplies

Tim, let me know what you need as I have hundreds salvaged from the inside of hard disks. Just take spam out or the reply address.

Cheers,

Cliff
