Warco's adverts give their VMC bottom speed as being 160 rpm, but on mine the lowest speed on the table (at 50Hz) is 190 rpm. Does anyone know why this is and has anyone actually measured the bottom speed ?

My experience is that the specifications listed in adverts from various suppliers are sometimes spurious! My chinese mill was listed with a 3 slot table and in real life it has four, the net weight turned out to be gross weight and so on. There is 1/4hp discrepancy (in my favour) between the ad and the manual. Not clever enough to measure actual spindle speed!
I've seen the same on some lathes too.
