mechanical behaviour of nano materials under compression

Hi all,



I have been reading quite a bit about nanoporous materials, nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes embedded in polymer matricies and how they effect the tensile properties of the material compared to the 'non-nano' versions.



What I have not scene, and am very interested in, is how a nanoporous material, for example, behaves under compression up to, say, 50% strain. In particular, a PDMS type silicone with nano-pores.



Does anyone know of any studies that have looked at this?
