How to do license tracking?

Aug 30, 2005 3 Replies

We have a group of various licenses for our Pro/E installation that are shared acroos several physical locations. Is there a way to monitor and possibly graph license usage over time by user? Perhaps a FlexLM tool or 3rd party script?

Thank you,

Kory

Try cadmin.co.uk or macrovision.com The cadmin.co.uk is a free downloadable program that monitors all FlexLm licenses. Macrovision is the owner of FlexLm and they have a tool for license tracking, but at a cost. $5K, last time I checked.

open up a dos box or press start run and type in cmd, then at the dos prompt type in ptcstatus

Hi Kory

There's a free tool from PTC called PTCStat. This will give you the ability to track your license usage. We used it for a while. It takes a bit to get it running (no big deal) but it should do what you want.

Just go to

formatting link
PTCstat for SysAdmins - (zip, 18.7 MB) Built on Perl and Java, PTCstat helps you monitor your PTC licenses dynamically over the Web. Download and configure for your own license monitoring. Please review the readme document for setup instructions.

Good luck, Andy
