Inertial Navigation or Gryocompass Modules?

Does anyone have any suggestions on an inertial navigation/sensor module for an indoor navigation system? Most of the systems and information I've been able to find are for combined GPS/INS systems. GPS is not an option, and I've already tried using a magnetic compass (and failed miserably, there's too many other magnetic fields in Pitt's engineering building for them to work). I had planned initially on using dead reckoning, so a gyrocompass could work, if I could find one. Anyone have any suggestions on something that will work, and be relativly cheap?

Thanks, Mike Delaney

Not sure how cheap you mean but you might want to check this out for $300:

I got one recently, but have not had time to put it together yet.
