More than one motor on a drive?

Feb 15, 2004 0 Replies

Hi,

I have an 8amp continuous amplifier (PMI KXA 48) and want to connect three identical ~10 oz-in. DC motors in parallel and have them run approximately the same velocity. Are three amplifiers necessary? The amplifier is used in velocity mode, which means the EMF sensing has to be enabled. Will three sources of EMF confuse the sensing? Any other problems?

Your feedback appreciated.

Ben
