I listen to that occasionally and like it as well. In an airwave filled with ClearChannel clones and frothing at the mouth talk show wackos, NPR is a breath of Fresh Air. :)

I like Click and Clack, and Michael Feldman's pretty good, too.

I tend to listed on the weekends, when I'm in the shop building rockets. I notice the various personalities are pretty careful appear as neutral as possible, but every once in a while someone will let loose with some diatribe which might well be out of Lenin's manifesto.

I've always loved radio. For one thing, it doesn't demand your total attention and time the way TV does. For another, the pictures are always better.

Those Car Talk guys are great (and so funny!) ! One of the best Radio shows around IMHO - love to listen to them and Garrison every Sunday morning.

The problem is that the terms liberal and conservative have lost their meaning in today's vernacular. Personally, I'd classify myself as a Jeffersonian Liberal but there's probably nly a couple of people that would know that it wasn't "really" a liberal philosophy. ;-) If you believe in the Constitution, then you can't be either a modern liberal or conservative. Neither group follows the beliefs laid down in the Constitution that all rights are individual rights and groups be damned.

My point exactly. Alan Colmes has just that kind of appeal. And I am broad minded enough to really enjoy both sides. But don't try to paint people with such a broad brush. It only serves to diminish others opinion of the painter.

IFrom my viewpoint, it's the Republicans; I have to pay taxes to support a whole lot of garbage that I do not believe in and abhor, like the 'faith-based' garbage that is just a way to line the pockets of organized religion and end-run around rthe constitution.

OK...I'll admit that it's really *both* parties. Each one has people "furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." Though calling the enforced collection of funds a 'contribution' is being *very* charitable.
