Rating: Highly Recommended
Recommendation: for German and artillery fans
DML has now released an updated version of their 7.5 cm PaK 97/38 (No. 6123) combined with their 7.5 cm Pak 40 with Heer Crew (No. 6433) crew figures to create a new kit.
The PaK 97/38 comes with eight new parts to fit onto DML=92s 5 cm PaK
38 carriage; this is a nice little kit and even includes the =93training=94 wheel for the crew to move the gun over short distances.By using the Kit 6433 figures it now provides a very nice =93Gen1" set of new DML figures with a five man crew provided. Each figure comes in six basic parts but only one set of arms, unlike the great option in the DML 15 cm gun crew set. The figures appear as designated closer to the Army styles of uniforms and are in standard uniforms, no fancy smocks or other variations. The now common GA and GB sprues are provided, and this set comes with a full issue set of Mauser rifles for use by the crew.
No ammo other than two rounds of turned brass are provided, so there are no decals for ammo cases or other objects included in the kit.
Finishing is basically little more than =93paint me sand=94 and the painting directions for the figures are unfortunately all in black and white (e.g. use the box art).
Overall this is a good combination but does not seem to be as much value as the upgraded 7.5 cm PaK 40 kit provided.
Thanks to Freddie Leung for the review sample.
