Decal solutions over acrylics?

Given the fact that decal solutions are nothing more than watered down vinegar and alcohol, how can I avoid an ugly reaction between the solutions and underlying clearcoat? FWIW, the clearcoat is Future in some spots and Krylon acrylic clear in others. Waiting a week or two really isn't an option on this. As an aside, I only use MM acryls and enamels.

if you can give a solid 24 hours, it should work ok. use sparingly.

FWIW, I never had any kind of reaction with Microscale's or Modem Master's over Gunze/Tamiya/Lifecolor/Aircraft Colors/Vallejo- Andrea/Future/Alclad, even when applied less than 24 hours after the last coat....

The reason that I finally gave up on Gunze Hobby colors was the fact that any decal setting/solvent /solution or just plain water usually ruined the paint surface.

Drying time was not a factor. Every time I applied a decal, then used a cloth to press it down or mop up the excess water or applied any of the several decal solvents or setting brands I use, the paint started to soften.

If I found a paint flaw that needed light sanding and attempted to use fine grit wet-or-dry it would turn to goop and ruin the surface.

I have a lot of finished models in my display case, and over time they sometimes need some cleaning/dusting. I had no confidence that light soapy water or even just soap suds would not attack the finish.

As a result of all of the above I made the switch to Gunze lacquers and have never looked back. Have no reason at all to regret the move. All of the good qualities of the Hobby colors with none of the disadvantages.

Yes, I know the feeling :-( However, if you first apply a coat of something harder over the fully-dried acrylic, you will have no more troubles. Now, clearly Gunze Mr. Color clear over Gunze Hobby Color is not a good idea :-) But something that does not react with either is enamel: plenty to choose from, including Tamiya even. That's what I do at the moment, until my stock of Hobby Color cries up or becomes unuseable. I don't plan on buying any more of the stuff either!

Chain, chain, chain.......

But seriously, I've never tried to apply decals over acrylics mainly because the few times I use acrylics have been on figures. I love the blendability of acrylics when shading or mixing.
