Import duty

Hi all,

There is a limit of £18.00 before duty has to be paid, there is some flexibility with this but not much, you might get away with £20.00.

See the HM Customs site for more details :

Since 9/11 there is a lot more scrutiny of international packages and unfortunately this is also reflected in the number of parcels being levied with duty charges.

It is not the duty I mind, its the ludicrous Post Office handling charge, on a £50.00 pound parcel a while back I had a £20.00 charge of which IIRC £14.00 was handling fees.

I now tend to keep my orders around the £18.00 level, with the strength of the pound against the Dollar & the Yen it's still worthwhile.

Hope this helps
