FWIW, there is a clock website that has several free PDF plans for wooden clocks, incl each and every gear. Before I retired in 2002 I DL'd & printed them. Egad, some of them look like a lifetime of labor, but what a wonderful thing when completed.

My father built a grandfather clock case from a kit when I was in high school, and I've had a running idea to design and build one based on some panels from a Frank Loyd Wright stained glass window. Must be from the exposure to Wright homes when my mother was working at West Sub hospital in Oak Park. Buiding a case is fairly straight-forward.
I was Googling for clock movements when I cam across this - also think it might be neat to do one of these wood movement designs in metals...with some nice engine turning on the yokes and supports. Then I could REALLY say I built a grandfather clock.
