What determines the size of auto sized planes? Many times the border of the plane is to close to the edge of the part and I pick the edge of the plane instead of the part edge.

What determines the size of auto sized planes? Many times the border of the plane is to close to the edge of the part and I pick the edge of the plane instead of the part edge.
I think that they are sized according to what was used to create them. Not sure though, I don't believe in the past that I had noticed much difference either way.
