Its already Jan 1st!!! Anyone have any ideas yet as to what is in it? Please tell me there is a southern EMU! Rob

Story Posted: 24/12/2003 For those modellers still waiting to see the new models for 2004 from Hornby, the wait is nearly over!

No Southern EMU, you just need to look at the list on the OnTracks website

to see the line-up for 2004. As for the product pages/photos, they're definitely on Hornby's server, but they've not linked the pages to their online shop directly yet... bit odd. Try starting off with

and increment the number at the end of the URL to see the rest (there's some gaps in between) until you get to the end of the Skaledale range.

Connex 466s in several numbers.

I knew you'd be pleased.

Is it my imagination, or are the number of new releases for 2004 rather limited? Or are there other models which have yet to be announced?

Southern modellers might wish to consider switching guages this year.

Electra Railway Graphics are planning a large range of N Gauge EMUS, including many second and third generation SR types, such as the 319, 365,

375, 455, 465 and 466.

Lots of AC units and DMUs planned, too!

These will be resin kits, with RTR chassis and pre-printed sides. More details at:

There'll be more, almost for certain. Probably not being announced until the Toy Fair.

Some are a bit out ie the grey lowmac is bauxite in the picture and the picture of the late logo weathered 4F has BR in full on its tender! No model pictures of the A1, A3, A4, 31, weathered 50007, MML HST or Gresley coaches. No mention of the much hyped ROD 04 (2005?). Comparing with the Ontracks list R2424 Hampden Castle is BR not GWR and R6243 Whitecliff Lime Co is not a LWB open but a covered wagon. Not listed by Ontracks are R2426 Black Princess, R6161B 21T mineral bauxite, R6077A GW Brake Van, R6119A BR 20T brake van bauxite. R6206A 20T brake van is weathered railfreight

I assume Hornby is still working on these pages before they officially link to them. Most of the photos are labelled "pre-production model", some pages have no photo at all, some have the same photo for several variations, and others have prototype photos.

More items on the Hornby site not listed by Ontracks R4098D Virgin Mk3 Buffet No 10220 R4145A Pullman Kitchen 1st Sappho R4146A Pullman Kitchen 3rd No 166 R4150A Pullman Brake 3rd No 161 R6256 BR (Ex LMS) Brake Van Trlng Lig R8514 Riverside Cottage

Also R6210A is a 45ton GLW Open Wagon with load, R4128A Coronation blue LMS coach is a composite not 1st, and the weathered 58 is stated by Hornby as 58003 not 58047
