Brass Cap Rail

I have a customer that thinks that he wants a short run of rail down some steps with a brass cap rail and lamb tongues on the ends. I've run miles of regular railing, but this is the first time I have had anyone wanting brass cap rail. My question: How is the brass cap rail attached to the 1" channel? And how are the lamb tongues attached to the cap rail and to the post on the ends? This is a highly polished cap rail at about $250. for a 16' stick, so there is no room for trial and error. Thanks for any input.

I've done it before. TIG weld the lambs-tongue on with silphos-bronze or Silicon bronze filler rod. Then you get to make your welds vanish, with sand paper, scotchbrite and a buffer.

Have good ventilation because you will smoke out some zinc in the process.

The cap is attached to the channel underneath with short tack TIG welds using silicon bronze filler.

Overhead welds I imagine. Sounds tricky.

Is is a breeze to do. Bronze just flows so nicely.
