self-shielding FCW for "Crapomatic 35" machines

Hi everyone

If you have a friend who has a "gasless MIG" which is an eponymous "Crapomatic 35", is there a self-shielding welding wire from a reputable manufacture which you can get at a good price? Maybe as a big spool which you respool yourself with little spool and electric drill?

Would cost $dollars-per-foot at the price some of these little spools are sold in hardware stores.

Anyone with specifically British experience to add would be v.useful.

What I mean is - if someone has one of these extremely cheap "gasless MIG"s, can I get at commercial rates from a welding store some self-shielding FCW which the machine will like? There's Lincoln, etc, etc, who offer their s.s.FCW for pipewelding, etc, etc. ???

Well, talking to myself again (as I often do!), but anyway, if anyone is interested, found today talking with local welding shop that commercial self-shielding FCW used eg. ship deck plating, where 1.2mm or 1.6mm wire at 240A. Wire too big dia for little machine. Told some desperados do respool from big spools to little ones, but the FCW is soft and tangly, unlike solid wire MIG wire which is hard and springy, so can spend hours in shed respooling onto one little reel - so no really worth it.
