Is there any benefit of Etec over Kokam or any other brand. Or just price?

There are subtle differences between brands. Some are hhapier at high currents than others. Some have higher internal resistance than others.
The Kokam 340 for example, is able to discharge sagfely at 20C (6.8A) The Etech 1200 will just about do 8C, but the kokam 560 will barely do 3C.
So not only is one brand different from another, but no one manufactures is a 'better brand'
