problems flying Syma Sparrow airplane

Sep 16, 2006 3 Replies

hi Group,

I recently bought my first RC airplane model "Syma remote control plabe Sparrow-8109" It cost about $13 from hobbytron..

They give a base for charging with the instrument. As per the spec, the instructions says "insert the charger into the power source on transmitter" And the green led turns on when the charging begins. The led turns off when the battery is fully charged.

What i notice is a the led glows Red. I kept the battery for charging for about 10 hours, but the red light remains glowing.

I connect the battery to the airplane and i expect the motor to turn when i press some buttons on the remote control unit, but the motors on the plane does not turn.

Could someone please tell mw whether the led"which glows red" is suppsed to glow green when the bateery is charging ??

When a charged battery is connected to the airplane body, is the motors supposed to rotate?

Thanks and Regards, Sainath

Sorry, but it seems that nobody here has any experience with this plane, or anything quite like it. You might want to try calling the manufacturer -- often they have a technical support number where they can help you.

Maybe you are trying to charge this with it turned on? Make sure the craft is OFF before charging. That's all I can think of. mk

Maybe the battery lead is round the wrong way. IE Positive is negative. Use a multimeter to check it out, and check the charger as well. Let us know how you go
