But seriously... You should talk to some CAM retailers. CNC Software (makers of MasterCAM) has, in the past, been very willing to give out their software to educational institutions. Functional seats that will cut metal. There are surely others who will do the same, especially if you put their name on your car or something...

:) No not at all, we have liscences on all our softwares. And hell, students don't even have a CNC mill to access.

CAD comes relatively cheap with the discounts and the university gets us all we need on computers. Its also nice to get those discounts for individual programs since the liscenses run annually for some programs and we get the latest version every time.

Not another problem after Lax. No.... way.

Given that music industry cracks down on colleges I was just wondering if the CAD/CAM/ any software for that matter does that.

Still, suggest call Mastercam...and if indicated, then simply follow their audit procedure to the letter.
